And in the Afterlife

NOTE TO SELF:

For some reason, I keep seeing the next 21 days as the End. A brilliant soul made me see that.

And in reaching the End, I had wanted answers. And I did get my answer, from that elusive soul. I was ready to resign, but perhaps there’s more now, and now in this dimension I’m just a hot mess of confusion. Was it an impulse move to dig where I “shouldn’t” have? Yes. But what’s done is done. I can only see clearly once I’ve passed the end.

The end, eh? The end is perhaps where we’re tested, where we’re weighed against our worth. Where we’re broken down.

But perhaps Imagine Dragons had dropped their album knowing I’d be facing my break down soon. Maybe, who knows, right?

“Break me down and build me up” – Whatever It Takes

The next 21 days WILL break me down. But building me up is all up in the cranium, isn’t it? It’s how bad I want to get past the end, isn’t it? It’s how bad I want to conquer this.

How bad do I want to share stories that make the table laugh?

How bad do I want to give my bear a rank too?

How bad do I want to fight for the people who’ve stood by me, at my best and my worst?

How bad do I want to come back, Stronger, Sweeter. Safe.

And I’m not alone in this. Now that I think about it, I have a section that has never once let me down, that has always had my back. A section I would face the floor with, and I would face the floor for. That section will be right beside me, all the way.

This will be a test to what I stand for. A test for the me that I’ve built up from the Ashes, post-December 2015. Now, more than ever, it’s time to see.

How I can be Brave, be Shrewd, be Human. Under pressure.

And perhaps, Illenium’s words will ring truer than ever. If I have to reach the end of one life.

“And in the afterlife, tell me we’ll be fine.” – Afterlife.

In the Afterlife.
