I cannot take seriously an article which does not include the most popular charting library out there — Chart.js. The NPM stats that you gave for it are for some other library with the same name. Chart.js has more than 20,000 downloads per day (see: https://www.npmjs.com/package/chart.js) and more than 31,600 start at Github (see: https://github.com/chartjs/Chart.js), way more than any of the other libraries in the list. For the given period (from 01/01/2017 to 06/29/2017) it has 2,071,803 downloads (see: https://goo.gl/eum5tH), i.e. almost twice as much as Highcharts. Obviously this is not an objective article...
