Why are Trees so important?

Trees are vital. As the biggest plants on the planet, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife. They also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter.

importance of tree

Why should we plant trees?Trees also help to reduce ozone levels in urban areas. Most importantly, trees sequester carbon, helping to remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air, which cools the earth. In fact, a mature canopy tree absorbs enough carbon and releases enough oxygen to sustain two human beings!

How do trees help clean the air? Trees clean the air. Trees absorb odors and pollutant gases (nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulfur dioxide and ozone) and filter particulates out of the air by trapping them on their leaves and bark

What is planting trees?

Tree planting is the process of transplanting tree seedlings, generally for forestry, land reclamation, or landscaping purpose. It differs from the transplantation of larger trees in arboriculture, and from the lower cost but slower and less reliable distribution of tree seeds.

As Rasulullah (SAW) said:

“The Sight of Greenery Benefits the Vision”

Plantation Campaign

Our main target is to provide awareness to people about planting a tree. How a tree is beneficial for us, for environment. To grow more and more trees. We selected some specific region of Faisalabad to plant trees in collaboration with PHA Faisalabad (Parks and Horticulture Authority).

We conducted a meeting with Director PHA Faisalabad Mr. Abdullah Nisar, and discussed our mission and vision about starting this awareness campaign. He satisfied and ready to help us. He appreciated our ideas and agreed to help us, as PHA Faisalabad can do for us.

Here are some pictures with Director PHA, which shows that our first step is successful.

Preparations

After that we arranged an inauguration ceremony for tree plantation drive, and invited Director PHA. And we invited our fellows, friends to participate in this drive, help us to improve for the betterment of environment as well. But unfortunately, on the time we received a short call from Director sb. He was going to Islamabad due to some important work/emergency. So, we postponed this for the upcoming suitable day.

Here is the invitation that we created/designed for the plantation drive to invite Director PHA as well as fellows, friends, teacher and other people.

But we did not stop our activity on that stage. They gave us an advice that you should continue with the collaboration of our team/labor. They said that we can arrange this ceremony later, but should continue your campaign with our department.

We continued our activity on different areas of Faisalabad, but first we started from the canal road, near Kashmir pull or can say near city cash and carry. We started our project with the help to PHA team, brought plant from Nursery to different areas of Faisalabad. Below is a picture which show the initial loading step of plant for plantation drive.

“We at the plantation drive are committed to improve the environment which is currently depleting at a very rapid pace due to global warming, felling of trees, setting up of various industries and multiple other reasons. It is no more a choice but a necessity to save our environment so that this planet is livable for our future generations,”

To maintain the balance of any living system, its pH is maintained, by buffers. Similarly, life of this planet is balanced by ultimate environmental buffers that are plants.

How plants maintain pH of environmental buffers?

Actually, pH is negative log of concentration of hydrogen ions. And buffer resists any change in pH of system. So, maintain the pH of any environment is really necessary to sustain balance in life. Plants are the sole helpers to make environment clean despite of large number of pollutants in atmosphere.

As pollution rate is increasing day by day. It imbalances the pH of environment or destabilizes the acid base balance in atmosphere. So, plants resist any change in pH due to pollutant’s misbalancing effect in the environment.

With an aim to make earth a better planet, we started this plantation drive all across the Faisalabad. The drive was started from April 13 and will continue till 5th of May. During this drive we are going to arrange different seminars in Schools and Colleges to make contribution for the betterment of this planet.

Here are the some random clicks during plantation drive, PHA team really collaborative and works for that cause. You can see that how they are are working to make the planet green and green.

Under this project the team also planted saplings in local government offices and identified various road side medians and planted saplings in the area.

Objectives and main takeaways of this drive

  1. Actually, if we want to see the importance of anything practically, then eliminate it. So, if all the plants are cut down what will happen? If we think critically. So, love plants as they give us precious gift of oxygen. If anyone give us gift then, we are grateful to that person. Plants are living. Means plants breathe to make human beings to sustain their lives by continuously giving us oxygen.
  2. Plants are the cause of our life, so love them, don’t cut them. Plants are our friends, be friendly to them. It is your choice to save plants or not, they give us shadow and they themselves are standing in sunlight which cause their leaves to cripple. As you have observed plants are very kind to us so be kind to them.
  3. Don’t cut them or don’t spoil them. Plants live for you, so be careful for their lives. Plants are natural factory of synthesizing oxygen. If you cut them, then from which industry you will take oxygen to live? Is it right to cut them? No, so we can convince people to save trees by these points. we will make people aware of the importance of trees by convincing them, even illiterate people will understand our points. So be grateful to plants love them live them and make this environment cleaning.
