Might I ask you continue this analysis with the X-Men movies?

I can make the case that the ones set in the 80s/90s (young Xavier) are deliberately shooting for a retro feel, just as a visual necessity.

But the other films in the X-Men/Fox canon, to me seem to be somewhere in between the MCU and the Snyder-inspired DC films.

I am likely wrong. Please refine.
