AI will kill bullshit jobs

Another nice Medium article :

AI tools or AI assistants will greatly help in automating most of those tasks. As always, low added value plus high boredom : this is the golden mine of AI impact.

Weirdly enough, I know a top-notch company called Acelys which specializes in hiring talented humans to do those kind of ultra boring stuff.

In French it’s called “TMA” : it’s this company’s dream to have only TMA-like clients. Well. they’ll soon be automated away by your competition. And since they chose as a strategic goal NOT to grow AI skills amongst the “talents” they so carefully nurture… well again. Problems ahead.

As for the main insight from the report, again from the same Medium source :

Tu sum it up : I would dare to say (I might be wrong) that AI WILL KILL BULLSHIT JOBS.

Just as video killed the radio star? Wwhich is not true, but you get the idea.

What is a bullshit job ?

Let’s say it’s a highly paid service job. Which are, according to almost all reports on the impact of AI on employment, the most deeply impacted amongst jobs.

Let’s also say that bullshit jobs are a way to compensate for a lack of creativity and courage, even for the incompetence of several categories of executives. Born with money for instance….

Once mediocrity is instated as a legitimate economic layer, bullshit jobs become a norm.

Tiny problem though : using Copilots require either high quality skills (if you can’t be critical with what your copilot does, then you are your copilot’s moronic copilot : not good !), or just a high quality brain. With or without “technical” skills : meaning that the woman who cleans your house might be better qualified to do your bullshit job than you are !

The rise of AI in jobs is like Attila the Hun : it will eliminate feodal priviledges from any job that require intelligence, creativity and curiosity.
