my 2015, a recap

Here’s a list of things I’ve done this year that were almost new or an improvement. Starting with this list, as I never did something like this before.
I did throw away a lot of stuff from my place, and my computer, and my lifestyle. I mean, a LOT. I grow thinner, so to speak..
Moved most of conversations to Slack and I’ve recently written my first Slack Bot. Also, Slack is the future (and the present), everyone knows this by now, right?
Unsubscribed from a LOT of newsletters. Yes, clicking unsubscribe every time I saw an undesired one.
Moved from Gmail to Inbox around February/March. Also removed email and facebook from my phone.
Nexus 5 got broken, started using a cheap entry level phone and got used to it. Also, Xiaomi makes some serious tech gadgets. I will eventually buy the Mi4c or some future iterations of it.
Got back to coding a lot and wrote a small, SAAS during the summer. I am writing Web applications and services with the architecture I wanted to use since 2013. Now is possible and is working nicely.
Made my first tech presentation at a meetup and at Codemotion Milano. Was good. Got to leverage on this.
Launched MilanoTechScene community. Was so much fun. It also spawned the first clone in Turin in less then 5 months.
I am actively working in Coworking industry. Seem like I am here to stay.
Oh, right, I spent the whole January in Thailand and Cambogia and really liked lot of it. Top so far: Chiang Mai and Otres Beach. Also, I am here again for two more months, 2/3 months at tropical places in the Winter was kind of a target.
I’ve been in Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania seaside for the first time.
I did attend an entry level DJ course
My computer has been Flash free for the whole year and I’ve never felt better ;)
I watch a few cinema-and-tv-focused, geek-oriented Youtube channels on a regular basis. This is the first time I do something similar since the 90s when there was, you know, the TV. Also, I watch too many comics-based shows and movies. But I can quite when I like.
I’ve seen Mad Max: Fury Road. Three times at the theater. Cause is an amazing movie, instant classic, instant cult, instant wooouahhhh.. and that does not happen often. I cannot remember the last time this happened. Matrix? Maybe.
I do some meditation from time to time. It is ok. I mean, I am not getting into the whole yoga-mindfulness-vegan obsession anytime soon, but I enjoy part of that shit.
I write a lot more. Still, no one read, as before. But I enjoy and I am getting more consistent.
Finally, Videogames. 2015 is the year I played the new XCOM (2012), Wasteland (2014) and Pillars of Eternity (2015). Is the year that my prediction, made back in 2001, totally got real.
the prediction being that Videogame industry was totally screwed in 2001 and nothing good would emerge for 10 years of darkness until a new dawn for a modern golden age. Of course I did not know that Kickstarter would have been the major reason that made this possible (thanks). Still, here we are.
2016 will keep up the awesomeness with the upcoming XCOM 2 that promises to move the genre forward for the first time since 1994 (2012 one was a reboot, now they’re pushing it forward) and with Torment Tides of Numenera… I mean the two single best Videogames of all time are getting new iterations out the box in the first quarter of 2016.
