Intentional Gratitude with Flower Friday
What is Flower Friday?
Flower Friday is a mindfulness project and discussion platform founded in March of 2022 by Illuminated. It is structured around live discussions on platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter), where we come together to foster gratitude and open conversations. In each episode, we start by sharing what we’re grateful for, creating an uplifting atmosphere. From there, we delve into an open conversation about a carefully chosen topic, inviting participants to share their perspectives and insights.
Our goal is to provide a warm and safe space for individuals to grow personally, connect with others, and develop a broader perspective. It’s like gathering in a comfortable living room with your closest friends and some new acquaintances, expanding your horizons, and inspiring personal growth through engaging discussions.
The Evolution of Flower Friday
In 2022, we started with more free-flowing Twitter spaces. Each discussion began with focusing on intentional gratitude and spotlighting different creators within the Web3 space. We also partnered with artists and musicians to create a curated Flower Friday NFT collection on the Ethereum Blockchain. During this time we helped a new artist onboard into the Web3 space, allowing him to create his first NFT while generating revenue at the young age of 16. This is one of many milestones we have had the honor to be a part of.
In 2023, we shifted to including topics for each discussion centered around self-growth and mental health. As of today, we have covered over 50 topics since the beginning of 2023. Some of our favorite topics include Personality Assessments, Narcissism, Boundaries, and Emotional Intelligence. We have also done collective book studies to cover books like The Body Keeps the Score by Bessell van der Kolk M.D.
Our team evolved and we have had Rowe Renders as a permanent host alongside Illuminated. Rowe Renders is a visual artist, mental health advocate, and host. Illuminated is a founder, artist, moderator, and host. In March 2024, we will expand the core team to help grow our vision. We keep an open space to welcome co hosts with varying levels of experience to help us navigate different topics.
We understand the value of different perspectives, whether it be from life experience, educational or career background, or via different resources. So we continue to invite people to join as co-hosts, speakers, or listeners to continue to help each other learn and broaden our perspectives. We have had friends, family members, therapists, and new acquaintances join us for our weekly discussions.
With each topic, we spend time researching and gathering resources for everyone to review before or after the discussion. Resources include podcasts, physical and audiobooks, articles, and videos. We also encourage our community to share additional resources they find useful. This allows us to create a small resource library for public access.
On Monday, March 25th, 2024 we will celebrate our second anniversary live on X Spaces. This a major milestone and a beautiful example of consistency and growth for our team and community. Listen to the space HERE
How to connect for Flower Fridays
Illuminated and Rowe Renders continue to host weekly Flower Friday spaces on X. All are welcome to join the live discussions and review the recordings via X.com, Fridays at 4 pm Pacific/7 pm Eastern. To join us as a speaker during the live conversations you will need to have your own X account and you can join by phone or computer. Weekly discussion links are posted on the Flower Friday account where you can set reminders or join as soon as it goes live.
Over the next few months, Flower Friday content will be evolving to be more accessible via other platforms, such as our website, Instagram, and podcast hosting platforms. Follow the Flower Friday accounts for more updates.
