Independant ICO Review: https://www.arcona.io

🔷I — Idea: 5️⃣
🔷II — Technical feasibility: 1️⃣
🔷III — Expertise of the team: 3️⃣

The choice of the project “Arcona” by our expert is justified by the fact that Vladimir’s company specializes in the development of applications of Augmented and virtual reality, like no other he can give a complete internal description of the processes of creating such projects.

What does the project team “Arcona” work on?

The goal of “Arcona” is the development of a platform, or rather a mobile application that can be used through separate services. What’s the point? The company plans to divide the entire planet into VR-zones. Using the project tokens you can buy a certain site, it can be the center of Moscow or Paris, or even part of the Sahara desert, and then — users who want to place their advertising or animation on this geolocation will pay you a rent for your site in this application. The application receives from this action established commission and the completeness of the idea is exhausted.

The main technical question is: how will the problem of scaling and using the capabilities provided by the system be solved? Yes, the project leaders said that everything will be determined by geoposition, but this is not a technical innovation. The geo-position is an approximate value, it does not work, for example, in the metro, it does not have a hardware solution for determining altitude.

A separate problem in VR-applications exists with such a concept as perspective. Solutions that can be found on the Internet, shown by the team as previous projects, do not show that this problem was eliminated by the developers, because they mostly use standard solutions. What is the perspective? Let’s imagine we are in Paris, it’s one thing if we stand and point our camera at the Eiffel Tower from a distance, and we see the structure completely, but it’s different when we stand right next to it. This is a completely different perspective, and the markers for displaying the models in different ways should be different in view of the scale, if we want to get a high-quality image on our smartphone. But about how they are going to deal with such problems, the developers say nothing.

The next important point is the data transfer rate. Speaking about content, you must not forget about the mandatory condition of the working capacity of the developed application — the Internet. Yes, 4G is already widely available and we are working in the world where it already exists, and in 2019, we hope, it will be available everywhere. In many countries fast Internet does not mean that it is free, in addition, tourists usually do not have local sim cards, and it’s dubiously that people who are in roaming will want to spend their traffic to look at whose VR ad near the Eiffel Tower. Of course, you can install Wi-Fi points near such places, but you also have to negotiate with a third party about the conditions of their location, which makes the project even less attractive. That is, this content will simply leave you without the Internet!

And the last important point: due to the fact that the application won’t be able to attach to moving and changing objects in places of large crowds of people and traffic normally, as well as public places where signboards, bulbs, lighting, etc. often change, you will simply get a mess from a huddle of 3D objects that will work at narrowly limited angles. As a result, some objects will be intermittently displayed, will start to disappear or their markers will not be recognized at all.

In fact, certainly, these questions puzzle the developers of all VR applications and there are low-quality solutions used for this today, but the project team does not give a decent answer in their white paper to these industry problems that they still have to find for the international flagship project, if they are going to launch it.

In my opinion, today you can be sure only that the guys are going to do something. But from the point of view of expediency of large investments infusion — this project is definitely not the most suitable option. This project can be viewed by traders as a high-risk investment in short-term distance with no guarantees that the project will be fully implemented.

My advice: you can make small investments that you do not mind losing in case of failure. In principle, you can buy land that no one needs, in an application that, perhaps, will not become someone interesting and necessary. HYIP and the token growth at the initial stage is possible, as long as land will be sold and there will not be serious technical problems with the implementation of the first phase of the project. During this time, investors will need to closely monitor the development of VR technologies and if large market players find a solution to the above technical issues — keep holding the tokens, if not, then sell, without waiting for the team beginning to explicitly postpone releases of roadmap, massive drain and drop in the price of the application tokens will begin.
