Not All Men? Well, actually…

I agree with this wholeheartedly. However, I think it also detracts from the real fear and manipulation that is pushed onto young males in situations where they are in groups. I went to an all male school. I was not a violent child, far from it, but in order to survive that school I was forced to become violent to defend myself. Something I am ashamed of and that has affected my life negatively. I’m not saying I ever went around attacking people but violence begets violence, regardless of why it is inflicted. Males are not intrinsically violent toward other people. It is programmed and produced, indoctrinated and fostered this violence. I believe we can solve these problems. I’m sad to see the writer of this article falling into the us vs them mindset in regards to gender. I love my wife and I love my daughter and would never harm them. I also have sisters and nieces I care for and look out for. It is far to easy to let stereotypes dictate ideology and it is a trap.
