I’ve kept a journal my whole life. It was called a diary as a kid but it’s the same thing. Highly recommend as you do.

I’d also suggest keeping a “box” of never-fail coping strategies for hard times: journal, favorite music playlist, deep breathing exercises, taking a walk, playing with my cats, gratitude list, and naps are mine.
