The acknowledged truth is often proved wrong. A similar thing happens in case of our everyday food that we eat thinking they are healthy enough to not to make us fat. However, all the fat-free promises are false and this may lead to obesity as well and you might end up getting a bariatric surgery.

Here are 5 foods that are actually making people fatter.

1. Breakfast Cereals

We believe that cereals are “healthy”, but these are the worst foods you can possibly eat at the start of the day. These are filled with refined carbs, and sugar that is one of the most enriched with fattening ingredients.

If you begin your day with this cereal, it will heighten the blood sugar level, along with insulin.

Then when your blood sugar crashes a few hours later, your body will address for another snack that is filled with refined carbs. People who are on high-carb diets they are familiar with this sugar roller coaster.

The labels on the breakfast cereal boxes usually claim like “low-fat” or “whole grain” on the package, are usually loaded with sugar.

If you’re hungry in the morning, eat breakfast, but choose something unprocessed and that has protein in it. If you can’t anything but eat cereal for breakfast, find out the one doesn’t include sugar or highly refined grains.

2. Brown bread

It is sometimes recommended that whole wheat bread are healthier and should be eaten instead of white ones. But in reality, the very promised brown or whole wheat bread is harmful enough to make you fat.

However, one of the main problems with most of these foods is that they aren’t made from actual whole grains. It is a marketing technique, that makes you a fool. These grains have been pulverized into very fine flour that is easily digestible and spikes blood sugar just as fast as the refined grains.

3. Granola

If granola is made with real ingredients, it certainly can be healthy. However, it suffers from the same problem as most other “health foods.”

The moment the food manufacturers start bulk producing them, they change them in a way that they aren’t healthy anymore. Granola is normally as we know, is filled with healthy ingredients like nuts and oats. However, manufacturers add oil and sugar into it and make it far from healthy. It encourages overconsumption, then it isn’t good for your health.

4. Low-Fat Yogurt

One of the healthy food is yogurt. The problem is most yogurt that is sold in stores are low-fat ones, which is another form of garbage.

When food manufacturers remove the fat from foods, they taste terrible. For this apparent reason, people like to add a whole bunch of other things to compensate for the lack of fat. Sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or some artificial sweetener is added into yogurt.

5. Commercial Salad Dressings

Vegetables are very healthy. They’re loaded with nutrients, antioxidants, soluble fiber and various goodies. Normal salads usually taste bland that’s why some people like to have them with various salad dressings, which are usually filled with soybean oil and high fructose syrup.

It will be healthy if you make dressing on your own. Mix it up with extra virgin olive oil, vinegar and some spices is a much healthier option. As usual, salad dressings can also be very high in calories and it is easy to eat a lot of them, which can be a crucial problem.

So you see how you were fooled by the everyday foods that you thought can never make you fat. Eating these foods every day can lead you towards obesity and you might have to get a bariatric surgery.
