My Day As An Astronaut

I can’t sleep because for one, it’s too hot in here, and for two, I can’t stop thinking about the ride that we took my first visit to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
You step into this chamber that is like a cockpit in a rocket ship, and you have four crew members to each car. They have actually two teams, green and orange. We were on the orange team. (This is after you get your special training beforehand).
Then, you are locked in. I agree with something I read online, it’s like a Disney torture chamber.
Well, after your safety contraption goes down and the box gets smaller, you are given your controls. As soon as the door closed, I immediately regretted my decision. What am I in for? What’s happening? Let me out! But it’s too late.
In the beginning we were given 2 choices. Hard or easy. I had no idea what I was in for, so I picked hard. I’m glad I did tho.
After that, you are ready go begin your death trip. You are tipped so you are laying back and ready for takeoff. The countdown begins and the force gets stronger. Then you are launched into space.
The force was too much for me. I’m in there yelling for help, I need try to get out! But no one heard me. My cries for help would go unanswered.
Finally, we drive left and right and shoot, and our mission was complete. We land on Mars and it starts to crack. I thought for sure the doom had begun and I would be hearing taps being played. But we were safe.
We returned to earth and all was well. That was the longest 4 minutes of my life. I’m safe, I’m alive, earth is safe, and I’m free to hang up my astronaut suit and retire.
I heard the ride actually spins 35 mph and the G Force is 2.5. But when you are in the ride, you don’t know it’s spinning. Either way, my day as an astronaut is over.
I learned two things that day.
- I’ll never be an astronaut.
- When your inside the ship, you lose all control. You’re in the control of the machine. That’s kinda like life without God. Without God, the world would lose all control. He created the world to have order. Man has sent it into orbit.
