A question, then: would you find it problematic if a ten-month resident did run for ANC and won a seat?

DC Council is a reach, to be sure. (We aren’t a city: DC Council, District agencies, etc.) Some of the best ANC commissioners I know are comparative newcomers–I’m reluctant to name names because they hadn’t spoken about their local tenure. As an Adams Morgan resident, I’d welcome new voices on the ANC, and I find that our neighborhood institutions are reactionary and entrenched in the idea of never changing anything. And seven years? A year or two strikes me as a perfectly reasonable amount of time for a smart, good listener to get up on local issues.
