Comic-Con Int’l 2016
Comic-Con International in San Diego, California came and went.
Okay, that was a total understatement, considering how overwhelmingly busy I was with commissions and introducing myself to the wonderful and kind visitors who took the time to stop by my little table space.
Comic-Con International in San Diego, California was incredible.
But my little trip to the beautiful city San Diego wasn’t without its adventures: The printer I needed to pick up my artwork from was surrounded by construction. The genius workers redirected me to go anywhere but into the plaza where the printer is, throwing my planned scheduled timing out the window. Then there was the stop-and-go traffic on the Highway 5 in Carlsbad, where I was rear-ended by a pick-up truck that was rear-ended by a sedan, where the driver was somehow managing paperwork and driving at the same time. This was the second time I got hit in a car accident in the last three months, and again the cause of the accident related to Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Ugh.
Despite all the challenges associated to attending SDCC; i.e. cost, traffic, traveling incidents, availability of tickets, scalpers taking away opportunity of real fans… etc., it’s still a special event for me. Most people are unaware that SDCC Artist Alley tables aren’t spaces for purchase. They are awarded base on a certain set of criteria. The fact that I am able to continue to make the cut for 11 years really shows how fortunate I am to be part of this epic event. It’s an honor and privilege to an artist at SDCC, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to show case my work to the attendees.
I want especially thank my awesome friends that stopped by, bringing me food, water, hugs and support: Lisa, Cathy, Melissa, Alex, Jaclyn, Sherri, Menh, Allen, Morris, Kristine, Deb, Rayna, Katrina, Ralph, Masa, Harrison. Hopefully, I didn’t miss anyone. But if I did, please message me, and I will add you to my thank-you list.
Here comes more conventions and event! Ain’t no rest for the artistic.
