I’ve also experienced something similar, but found a different solution. In addition to speaking up more often and throwing myself into the mix, I stopped caring about being correct.

When I was focused on being correct, I would end up speaking less and adding weight to what I said. When I started making more mistakes by speaking without thinking it through too much, it was more spontaneous, frequent, and a lot of times incorrect. I think it helps everyone realize I make mistakes too and we should all be checking each others work.
