This post is based on original research using the “Lumbering administration” 木政 sections of gazetteers (乾隆四川通志, 道光遵義府志, 筠連縣志 and 嘉慶宜賓縣志; and the 播州宣慰司 and 播州宣慰司 sections of the 萬曆四川總志); and the “Long memorial on large timber” (大木疏) in the 萬曆貴州通志, researched at MPI Berlin in August 2016.
