Innovative Architectural Solutions: IMK Architects Redefining Institutional Building Design in India
IMK Architects is distinguished in the field of exceptional architecture by its dedication to passive design solutions that are appropriate to a given region and sustainable. With an emphasis on minimising energy consumption, enhancing comfort, and improving indoor air quality, IMK Architects delivers a refreshing viewpoint to institutional building design in India.
At IMK Architects, we use site-specific passive techniques as critical design tools, adjusting our buildings to take advantage of the environment and natural features while using fewer mechanical systems. We hope to lower energy use, improve comfort, and improve indoor air quality in our buildings by utilising these tactics.
For our project, Symbiosis International University, Lavale, Maharashtra, we did the following to design better and help save the project’s cost:
- Created courtyards to maintain thermal comfort.
- Oriented the rooms to absorb E-W sunlight.
- Used brick jali (at the entrance) to shade the south sun.
- Treated sewage water in an eco-friendly reed bed system for landscape purposes.
- Built terrace gardens on most buildings to reduce overall heat gain.
By continuing to push the boundaries of architecture, IMK Architects is establishing a standard for creative and sustainable design in Indian institutional buildings. Their all-encompassing strategy, demonstrated by the Symbiosis International University project, demonstrates a dedication to designing environments that satisfy practical needs and support a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
