Latino Powerful Insights You May Have Not Discovered In LA LA Land And How It Can Impact Hollywood …

Hollywood will not be transformed by bias of celebrities or lack of diversity but by the inclusion of all nationalities, race and equality.
I love social media and how it’s game changed opinions especially when it comes to hollywood, politics, technology, entrepreneurship and so on… and noticed a couple of weeks ago in twitter a topic that is very special to me which is diversity and equal pay.
Perhaps because I haven’t really experienced un-fair pay throughout my years of working in real estate, longshore work and corporate jobs. We got paid what we were worth. What we brought to the table. Our experiences… Hence, I did experience one corporate job where I was unequally paid and was not a happy camper and therefore a raise was in the works
Not only have I noticed this happening in hollywood however the lack of diversity within latinos is beyond gasp.
A recent study released by Beacon Economics for the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce found the number of Hispanic households earning between $100,000 and $200,000 in 2014, jumped 10.2 percent increase from 2000, leading to $72.4 billion in spending across heavily-marketed consumer categories, including electronics, food, and clothing.
According to Theresa Martinez, the Chamber’s chairman, Latinos are a consumer powerhouse!
Why all these statistics?
We need more latinos in Hollywood and been noticing there is minimal exclusivity. What happens when latinos are not seen in movies, television shows etc… you will not be able to sell tickets or fascinate your latino-viewers and we contribute to half a billion dollars in Los Angeles alone to our economy.
The special moments when mom and I watched “The Bamba” years ago is something priceless! I was a kid and mom said let’s go watch it at the theater and I was excited and we came out of tearing as it was such a sad movie and back then social media did not exist so we couldn’t tweet or selfie moments… We just talked about it via word of mouth and tried not to spoil it for other to watch…
Hearing Diego Luna’s accent in Star Wars (Rough One) and touching a family made buzz in social media. Luna saw the post and tweeted it from his personal account, writing, “I got emotional reading this! #starwarsrogueone.” In just 17 hours it has been retweeted over 37,000 times and liked by over 85,000.

I’m just appalled at the tiny percentage of latino hollywood actors. There should be a whole lot more however know the competition is fierce and now with an industry that is innovating I expect to see a lot more open doors…
I write this blog in behalf of latinos who have struggled however as a latina myself know that within any competitive industry you enter you will need to amp your skills and fascinate! If there is one skill you should know is how to fascinate your fans because once you do they’re here to stay. Same goes for brands and products you will have customers for life!
And who doesn’t want that?
By creating more latinos it will invite fans to promote new upcoming movies! We are bilingual as well! Which means social media is worldwide and our messages can transcend all over the world.
And what happens when you promote movies to mexico via red carpet? The buzz is already there! How? Via social media!
I can go on… and on…. but you get my point. Excluding latinos out will bring empty seats to theaters.
If your a latino actor/actress my suggestion is fascinate. How? Ask me!
To Diversity! ❤
Sharing is fascinating if you found value share away! :)
