IMMERSE XR

With the exploding growth in the XR industry, now you have the potential to bring home your favorite car or pet. The immense growth in computer graphics has paved its way for the development of various XR solutions that could take us one step closer to the Man-Machine Symbiosis. However, there exists a clear gap in the Extended Reality domain due to inexpensive hardware and the limitations of the existing frameworks. IMMERSE XR bridges the gap in the XR industry with its lightweight plugin that is easy to setup and can work right off the bat.

The mathematical modeling of the IMMERSE XR is inspired from how the Human eye works in order to perceive the real world objects.

Stereo-pairs

IMMERSE XR creates a stereo-pair of the object that is in the line of sight of the user. The stereo-pairs are created while taking into consideration of the device profiles such as the inter-lens distance, vertical lens offset, screen dimensions etc.., The views from the right and the left field of vision flows through the optical nerves and the disparate images are being perceived as a single image after being processed by the visual cortex. The result is that when you would see the virtual 3D synthetic objects to be the part of the real world.

Setting up IMMERSE XR

Setting up IMMERSE XR won’t take more than a minute. The SDK is heavily documented and also there is a video tutorial on how simple it is for you to get it up and running within a few minutes. This means that you are just a few steps away from experiencing immersion. IMMERSE XR moves the user’s perception from Observation to Immersion. The first and foremost step is to import the SDK to your existing Unity Project. Map the First Person Camera of the ARCore to the Immerse Camera Manager. To prevent the ARCore camera feed from appearing in the world space, change the culling mask of the First Person Camera. Ensure that the Vulkan API is disabled as ARCore doesn’t support Vulkan at the moment. Set the screen resolution to Landscape and switch the build to Android. Connect any ARCore supported mobile device. Build and Run the application. Voila!…
