Each and every one one of us has our own set of challenges in our lives, and how we react to those challenges will determine which path we take in life. Our guest on the show today was Andrew Sayles, an ex-felon turned businessman after a series of trials and tribulations.

This is his story.

Growing up in a loving family without a lot of money, Andrew found a way to make some extra cash to satisfy his needs. He began selling drugs at a young age, and being known as someone who hustles to get work done, he was rather successful at drug dealing.

After a series of unfortunate events, Andrew found himself in jail, a place he never thought he would be, but he was now forced to adapt.

Coming out of jail, Andrew decided to get his life on track and he began to get into the sales industry. Being known for having a strong work ethic, he made a strong impression on his employers.

Though after another series of events, he found himself back in jail and was now again forced to contemplate his life and the direction he’s taking.

What he told us was that it was those experiences that helped to craft him into the man he is today. He would spend his time in jail reading books and mentally preparing for the road ahead so that when his time in jail was up, he could hit the ground running.

He learned the keys to motivation, sales, leadership and more by applying himself and committing to the craft.

Andrew now runs his own business and trains salespeople using the skills and knowledge he’s learned along his journey of dealing with adversity after adversity.

The lesson to learn here is that, even though unexpected challenges will arise, you have the ability to bounce back and learn from that experience. If you commit yourself and do whatever it takes, you can overcome almost any obstacle and achieve things beyond belief.
