Finally, Impostors is getting ready for a major milestone: the first community Beta event showcasing real gameplay!
While the Beta event offers only a glimpse into what will be a diverse and fast-expanding gaming ecosystem, bringing the Impostors community along for the journey is a crucial step. The aim of the Beta is not only to show the community what we have been tirelessly working on but also to collect valuable feedback from our community. We are eager to run tests and identify & patch bugs while having fun together! We can’t wait to get you shifty-eyed backstabbers into a lobby and hash things out the old-fashioned way…
Important Event Details
Have you been patiently staking your Genesis Alien, waiting to get a peek at Impostors gameplay? Well, the time has almost come. Be sure to read the following details to avoid missing out on the exciting community Beta event!
- The Beta will last 3 hours and is only open to Impostors Genesis Alien Holders who are verified on our Discord.
- Start time: August 12, 3 PM PST / August 12, 10 PM UTC
- End time: August 12, 6 PM PST / August 13, 1 AM UTC
- Amount of players per lobby: 4–15. (Recommended number of players per lobby is 10.)
- Theme: Lies & Knives
- The game will initially only support Windows PC with the following minimum spec requirements:
The Mac and Linux version of the game is pending development and will be released in future updates.
We are dedicated to our players’ security and want to protect personal IP information. One measure we have taken to achieve this is to use our own custom servers. Currently, we are running on dedicated North American Servers, which means that if you are not located in the US, you may experience some lag time. As we progress, we will be expanding our server region support, starting with Europe and continuously evolving to ensure all users have the best possible gaming experience.
How to Access the Game
While we wait to be added to the Epic Games store (where Impostors will be downloadable in the future), we have built our own SuperFarm Impostors Game Launcher, which serves as a temporary solution to download from. There are steps to be taken, which are as follows:
1) On August 11th we will be dropping the link to the SuperFarm Launcher on Discord which you will need to download.
2) Open the launcher and press install.
3) Once the launcher installation is completed, you will need to “Create an account”, this can be found at the bottom of the launcher, once pressed it will open a new tab in your web browser where you “Create an Account” by inputting your email & password.
4) Return back to the SuperFarm Launcher & enter the credentials you used in step 3 (email and password) into the launcher fields and press “Sign In”.
5) Click “Install”. Once the game files have finished downloading, press “Play”.
6) After launching the game for the first time it will ask to sync with your Epic Games account, at which point you will need to login with your Epic account that is a one time event to link accounts. (If you don’t have an EpicGames account you will need to create one which can be done here.)
7) Enter the Beta Key that will be supplied on the day of the event needed to access the Community Beta Test.
During the first community Beta event, players will be able to choose from the two free-to-play characters, Beary and Froggy! These characters are important as they are the ones non-NFT holders will be using in the future. Testing the free-to-play characters during the initial Beta Test is a vital step not only for development purposes but also to ensure playing with them is a seamless experience as it’s the first step to mass adoption and implementation of the Alien character.
Having said this, we’re excited to announce that in the next community Beta event we’ll be implementing the Alien character that you’ll be able to play as! Along with the Alien character implementation, all Genesis Alien cosmetics will be found in-game and players will be able to fully customize their Alien character. This will allow users to get a feel for how different traits will look in-game and will help the developer team ensure cosmetics appear as they should. The Web3 integration where you’ll be able to connect your wallet and play with your specific Impostors Genesis Aliens will follow at a later stage of development.
Remember, this community Beta event is only the beginning and a sneak peek into the Impostors gaming ecosystem! The game is continuously being worked on & updated. Depending on feedback and bugs found during the Beta event, the next event will be within 4 weeks as we refine and intergrate features.
The initial game mode is designed to kickstart the extensive Impostors Web3 economy and lay the foundation for a thriving and ever-evolving gaming ecosystem that provides unparalleled opportunities to players in the future.
