A Bridge To Better Vision

The dunya is a bridge. And a mirror too… The tool to help you see. It is the sleeper who does not see, eyes shuttered to reality. And it is the narcissist who sees only himself, heart shut to divinity. And it is the fool who falls in love with the mirror, and ignores the Face of the Fairest One, of Beauty beyond compare, of Beauty that blinds… of Beauty that binds…

“And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, ‘My Lord, show me (Yourself) that I may look at You.’ (God) said, ‘You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me.’ But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level, and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, ‘Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.’” (Qur’an 7:143)

“Vision cannot grasp Him, but His Grasp is over all vision.” (Qur’an 6:103)

One does not stare at the sun. He side-eye sees. And if he wishes to see more directly, he sees by reflection. He understands… He looks to the mirror, he sees himself, adjusts his attention, angles up, and in the mirror he sees the sun. He sees the light… In the mirror he sees the sun. He does not mistake the sun for the One.
