We The People…

I don’t know whether to leave this video up or not, because it’s true, I don’t know what really happened. But I do know that nation states have a disproportionate (such an understatement) power to shape, control, and suppress information that might otherwise tell a different story. There is a reason why the wealthiest people, those who clearly covet power, seek to monopolize media. It has always been the way that the poor, the downtrodden, the dispossessed are ignored, victimized, dehumanized, and even blamed for their circumstance, their enfeebled resistance and outbursts of rage, because it lets us feel better about ourselves, stay complacent without a call to conscience, keeps us unconscious so we can sleep at night… and through the day. Don’t you see we are all connected? People are not born with hate; it is born out of injustice, perceived injustice. The mass media does its dirty deed to give you a perception that the powers that be are just, that “we’re” in the right and “they” are just psychotic fanatics, but do you see any lessening of hate? Or more? Maybe we could try a different tack: consider that there really is injustice underlying their perception of injustice, they being the very ones the government, the moguls and their media minions ignore, and listen to them, the ones unlistened, and then remove their perception of injustice by removing real injustice… Don’t you think it’s about time? Life is not complicated. Honesty is the best policy and keeps it simple. But man is “selective” in his honesty, “selective” in his compassion… And that makes man a liar, a hypocrite. So stay selfish, but stop being stupid. It is in your interest, your selfish enlightened self-interest, to work for real justice, because otherwise, the hate will only multiply, magnify, and set the world on fire. It’s all up to you. And by you I do mean me. I’m brown, I’m Muslim, I’m American, and I’m from “that” part of the world. You are not different from me, not in your humanity, not in your inhumanity. It’s up to us; it’s up to US, the United States of America, the most powerful nation on Earth, to lead, and not be led, not where we’re going. Justice… We the People…

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
