I disagree; the election showed you nothing about “white people being against social justice”.
What those “white people” did was remind the Dems that there is no greater “social justice” priority than the economic well-being of its own citizens. Clearly something they forget, as they parroted statistics about the economic “recovery” which simply didn’t occur outside of Washington DC and a few select urban areas.
Well, I disagree with both of you! I think what the election showed us was that political tribalism is THE dominant force in American politics.
The conclusions people reach about a politician’s words, behavior, and policy positions are very heavily influenced by which “tribe” those people belong to. People interpret the words of members of their political tribe in the most generous way and the words of their political opponents in the worst possible way. Bad behavior by political allies is minimized or dismissed, while bad behavior by political opponents is magnified, often to absurd proportions.
