ADVANTAGES OF SHUTTLE LOOMS:-

Advantages of shuttle looms are

1. Firstly shuttle loom is more economical than shuttle less loom.
2. Secondly, it is suitable for low scale production type industry.
3. Thirdly it is easy to operate.
4. Spare parts are available in market.
5. An average weaver can operate all this loom.
6. The fabric produced in these loom are good and have lustre.

DISADVANTAGES OF SHUTTLE LOOMS:-

The disadvantages of shuttle looms are as under,

a) Firstly, shuttle loom causes more noise in the working field .

b) Secondly,shuttle causes abrasion on warp yarn which increases the wastage pecentage.

c) Thirdly the warp break increases for the shuttle

d) The production rate of shuttle loom is slower than shuttleless loom.

e) Equally imported shuttle flies from the shed can cause accident.

f) Additionally high labour cost.

g) The value of fabric lost because of shuttle movement.

h) Efficiency of shuttle loom is less than the Shuttleless loom.

i) It increases physical and mental pressure on labour.

ADVANTAGES OF SHUTTLE LESS LOOMS;-

1. Firstly weaving is high due to high speed of the machine
2. Secondly it reduces the labour cost due to higher allocation of loom and productivity.
3. Thirdly it facilitates defect free cloth (fabric) during weaving.
4. The Shuttleless loom creates less noise.
5. Also pirn Winding process is eliminated in shuttleless loom.
6. It keeps better fabric value.
7. It is to market traders
8. Weavre’s beam flanges are bigger can accomodate 3 times warp length and lesser wastage.
9. Accident percentage is low.
10. Easy maintenance and less work load for workers.
11. Used for high scale production.
12. Efficiency of this machine is higher than shuttle loom.

DISADVANTAGES OF SHUTTLELESS LOOMS:-

The disadvantages of Shuttleless loom are given below,

a) The price of Shuttleless looms are higher than shuttle loom.

b) Experience weaver required for operating this shuttle less looms.
