Augmented Reality with TrueDepth

iPhone X ARKit gif

iOS developer Peter Norrby demoed a tease of his upcoming app, “Parallax View” on Twitter. In it, you can see a 3D on the display that changes user perspective as the device tilts. This is another example of augmented reality creativity from Cupertino’s ARKit on the iOS development platform.

Using the face tracking capability of the iPhone X, applications can take advantage of the precision TrueDepth camera, and provide the user feedback by changing the 3D image on the display depending on where his or her face is.

There have been other apps in the AppStore like this, but none that use face tracking with the iPhone X’s latest hardware.
