Jon! I completely agree. I personally only unfollow people i’ve followed because they 1. Look fake (because now we all have trust issues) or 2. They got caught up in my mass targeted following and have nothing to do with my target demographic.

Also, the LinkedIn strategy is a good point but considering their stocks too — they don’t have the greatest system. The way they display content sucks in my opinion — it’s always way too old to be relevant anymore. They have those LION marketers that ruined their vanity system as well haha! I see what you are saying though. It takes the focus off vanity metrics and puts more into the relationship aspect. Although, there should be a way to engage with more people and actually see their updates.

As for the grading systems, I agree. The bots are getting smarter and now they use actual photos stolen from accounts, have a semi OK bio, and utilizes randomized posting to stay relevant and active. It’s detrimental to everyone in the mix. There’s got to be a way to utilize AI to learn when/where these accounts are being created and to shut them down before they get to more people.
