5 MidJourney Parameters that can Change Your Images Dramatically

Prompt engineering is a powerful technique to get the desired results from generative AI. It involves crafting an input that is tailored to the task at hand and maximizes the AI’s capabilities.

Is AI going to take our jobs?
It depends. For instance, prompt engineers will be something that you want to pay attention to. It is the ability to input a specific set of words in order to get the desired output from generative AI.
AI will not replace you. A person using AI will.
Let’s dive right into some of the prompts you would like to pay attention to master Mid Journey
1. Change the aspect ratio
— aspect or — ar
Mid Journey images have a default 1:1 aspect ratio, but you can also switch to a different one using the optional dimensions field.
Using — aspect or — ar allows you to set the dimensions of the images.
1:1 — square aspect ratio (1:1)
2:3 — portrait
3:2 — landscape
16:9 — widescreen
You can enter actual pixels such as 1920:1280
Here is an example of an aspect of 16:9
2. Unusual result
— c
You can use — c to produce more “unusual” results.
This command takes values ranging from 0–100. By default, the value is set to 0 but for the most unique result, use 100!
Prompt: fancy galaxy, stars, night, dreamy color palette, cinematic lighting, 8k — ar 7:4 — c 100
3. Style
— stylize or — s
You can transform your images into a more artistic style, even though it won’t be as close to the prompt though. Unleash your creativity and be amazed by the results!
The ‘stylize’ command indicates how strong the styling of your photos should be — higher values are usually more creative and opinionated, while lower values will likely remain closer to their initial prompt!
Feel free to experiment with the following values which are supported by version 4 of Midjourney:
- 0: Very strict
- 100: Default value
- 500: More artistic
- 1000: Very artistic and highly detailed
With MidJourney Model Version 4, you can also switch between versions with the following parameters
— style <4a, 4b or 4c>
Prompt: futuristic resort, dreamy color palette, — s 500
Niji — style
With Niji Version 5, you can switch between
— style < cute, expressive, or scenic>
Here is a demonstration of the 4 different styles of Niji Journey V5 with the same prompt:

Starting from upper left to bottom right: Default, Expressive Cute and Scenic.

4. Quality
— quality or — q
The Quality Parameter makes changes to the GPU usage to optimize your resources!
By opting for lower values, you can cut costs without compromising on image quality. Conversely, if you choose higher values, you’ll end up spending more and getting better results but it’ll take longer.
- 0.25: 4x faster, cheaper, very rough
- 0.5: 2x faster, cheaper, less detailed
- 1: Default value
- 2: 2x slower, expensive, more detailed
- 5: Only for experimental stuff
5. Anime Style
— niji
This is an alternative model in MidJourneythat will make your image look more anime style.
Try also the following models
— hd : Produce high-definition image
— test: Special test model of MidJourney
— testp: Special photography-focused test model of MidJourney.
— version < 1, 2, 3, 4, 5> or — v < 1, 2, 3, 4,5>:
Version 4 is the default setting. But some of the function like — sameseed is not available in version 4, you can change to an earlier version by adding the parameter.
