Have you ever wondered how to use commands like “/describe” on the Midjourney website?
Today, I’m excited to share 5 essential tricks on how to use Midjourney to enhance your AI image creation and improve your workflow.

You can access Midjourney website from here:https://alpha.midjourney.com/
Tip 1: Hover for Quick Interaction
You can make quick interactions like variation and reroll your prompt.
Make Variations
By hovering over your creation, you can see the variation options where you can produce new images easily.
- V Strong: will produce new images that vary from the original image in composition, number of elements, colors, and types of details.
- V Subtle: will produce new images that retain the composition and colors of the original, but with subtle changes to the image details.
When hover over the text prompt on the right side, there will be four more options
Rerun & Use Prompt
- Rerun Prompt: Reroll the prompt with the same setting immediately
- Use Prompt: Prompt with settings will appear on the text box above where you can make changes to the prompt.
Hide
If you dislike the creation, you can hide it easily with the “Hide” option
More
- Copy: With more, you can easily copy the image prompt, Job ID, seed, image and URL.
- Download: By downloading your images from more, you can get the image download in a grid of 4 instead of a single image
Tip 2: Download the Image in Bulk
You can also download images in bulk without needing to repeat the process one by one
- Step 1: Head over to Archive
- Step 2: Hold “Shift” and select the images you want to download
- Step 3: Click “Download”
The Result: You will get a zip file of images
Tip 3: Easy Drag and Drop Images for creation
You can drag and drop images you created directly to the “ Imagine” textbox and use it as a reference or image prompt.
⭐️ User other’s Images
You can even use others’ images easily by dragging the image into the textbox like what I showed you above.
Tip 4: Toggle Option
Wonder how to tell if you use an Image Prompt, Style References or Character Reference?
- Step 1: Hover over the uploaded image
- Step 2: There will be three icons for you to select
- Step 3: Select according to your needs
- Character Reference(

): Inspired by key character attributes. - Style Reference(
--sref
): Inspired by visual style only. - Image Prompt (
URL in prompt
): Inspired by composition, style, subject.
Tip 5: Use /describe
With/describe
, it allows you to go from image to text. It’s an Image-to-Text Command!
Have you wondered without the option to type the command like what we usually do on Discord, how can we use “/describe” on the Midjourney website? Here’s how :
- Step 1: Press the “+” icon
- Step 2: Upload an image
- Step 3: Hover over your image
- Step 4: Select the “info” icon
- Step 5: Midjourney will generate a list of descriptors for you
- Step 6 (Optional): If you are not satisfied with the result, click the “rerun” icon and let it regenerate the prompt for you
How to use the suggested prompt
Simply select the prompt and it will appear in the textbox above.
