Experiment and Create New Aesthetics through Midjourney Code Blending

With the release of Midjourney Personalization and Style Reference, you have more control over the style and aesthetics. They just added more advanced options today.

Midjourney makes it possible for you to blend you --sref and --p codes to create new aesthetics! You can also adjust the style weight and use the codes with Style Reference. Let’s see how!

⭐️ Blending Type One: style codes blending

What is --sref code

Instead of using the image as a style reference, you can use the number together with --sref. Each “sref code” represents a specific style.

• Use: Type --sref after your text prompt, followed by codes
• Format: Text prompt --sref 123

Before, you can only use one sref code each time to influence the aesthetic of the image like this below.

Now, you can blend codes. Here are three ways to explore new visuals.

Now, you can blend multiple --sref codes together. By blending the two sref codes, you can combine the aesthetics of two styles and create new aesthetics

• Format: Text prompt --sref 123 456

You can use ::to weigh individual codes

📌 What is Prompt Weights
When a double colon :: is used to separate a prompt into different parts, you can add a number immediately after the double colon to assign the relative importance to that part of the prompt.

For “Style references” we can use prompt weights by adding a number after the URL to determine the relative importance of the reference image.

You can assign relative weights to adjust the styles for example: --sref 123::2 456::1

What is Model Personalization?

Model personalization allows users to fine-tune the AI model to your artistic styles and preferences

• 🎨 Customization: Pick user preferences compared to the default Midjourney model

You can also now blend multiple model personalization codes together like --p ab12ad3 cd34gl

Unlike sref code, personalization does not specify a style but is more of a feeling.

Like sref code, you can also influence the style with weights like this--p ab12ad3::2 cd34gl::1
