The only caveat is that this is good for people who are already healthy.

I am glad you mentioned glycemic index being important. I switched from White rice to Parboiled Rice for this reason, and cut down my Rice intake too. I have also started the 5+2 method of intermittent fasting 2 weeks ago. I have already lost about 15 pounds in 5 months just by changing my diet and exercise routine. I hope the Intermittent Fasting will help too.

But the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, when I get my check up done in a month. If the numbers went down then I know what I am doing is working. Otherwise, I will tweak this with help from my nutritionist. The important thing is to keep on top of the metabolic indicators. Get routine checkups done, people. Diabetes, High Cholesterol Problems and the like are preventable diseases.
