Congress party; an axis behind trouble in Punjab
From the time when Sikh congregation was held on November 10 in Chabba village near Amritsar, where a pro-Khalistan resolution was passed and was attended by leaders of the Congress party, the party has been playing divisive and communal politics in the country and the Punjab state. Both Punjab Congress President Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi were openly trying to encourage secessionist forces in the state.
From the very beginning, being a border state, Punjab has faced turmoil for more than two decades and Punjabis have suffered a major setback during black days of militancy.
It is no more hidden truth that the Congress party doesn’t shy away from siding with Sikh hardliners for political gains and it was Congress who had raised Bhindrawale, a Sikh militant. Congress was in close coordination and in tandem with radical elements that had organised the November 10 congregation and also had a hand in drafting of the resolutions having secessionist agenda.

Complicated Congress
The complicity of Congress and its Punjab Congress leaders Capt Amarinder Singh was witnessed when it had failed to take action against its party leaders, who had participated in the so called “Sarbat Khalsa”, where there was a demand of separate ‘Khalistan’. Earlier also, the party was proved anti-national when it safeguarded Jagtar Singh Hawara, who was convicted for assassinating Beant Singh, the high priest of the Akal Takht.

Most recently, Congress’s Desperation to make a mark in Punjab poll has come to the lime-light, as the party leaders are not leaving any stone unturned and blaming the ruling government over the much debated SYL issue.
Whereas, the ruling SAD-BJP alliance government had always been seeking public support as it feels the public support is the basic necessity to promote the ethos of communal harmony, peace and amity in the state. “I assure you that with your pro-active support and fulsome cooperation, we will not allow any force to push our state again into turbulent times,” Mr. Badal said.
Also, he questioned the reliability of Capt Amarinder Singh, who had been behaving like a “”chronic turncoat” for “frequently shifting his loyalty from one party to another throughout his entire political career.”
In the upcoming poll, people of Punjab are likely to show door to parties like Congress that don’t have any positive agenda for the people of Punjab but only evil designs.
