I’d add that people are also uncomfortable with persuading people, if there is no direct self-engagement from the other side. “If you’re not interested — I will no longer bother you.” And as we are constantly busy, self-engagement towards 3rd parties is a luxury we can’t afford. Eventually, this lowers any expectations on success and thereby lowering the number of attempts to go for a sale.
