On the Occasion of Indradyumna Swami’s Vyasa Puja

My dear Indradyumna Swami Maharaja,

Please accept my prostrated obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to
Srila Prabhupada. And all glories to your service.

I could speak for many days about your service to Srila Prabhupada and Sri
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and for many hours about how you have helped me personally. But today I wish to focus on one area in particular in which you have helped me — my writing, which Srila Prabhupada said I should take up as my “first business” and which thus is my most important service.

Some years ago, you told me that I…

Hare Krsna,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Thank you to all those who registered for Sadhu Sanga 2020.

A couple of days ago, I had a meeting with my disciples who help me organize the Sadhu Sanga Kirtan Retreat in the USA.

Considering the safety of the devotees and the difficulties in planning a large scale event while facing so many uncertainties, we decided to cancel the retreat that was scheduled to take place from May 22–25, 2020. Our detailed reasoning for the decision is as follows:

At this point, it’s still not clear whether…

Indradyumna Swami brought the Parikrama group to Chira ghat, where, he described, Krishna stole the clothes of the Vraja gopis. The devotees were assembled in close proximity to the original tree, or ancestor of the original tree, that Krishna had climbed during that particular pastime. Indradyumna Swami mentioned that we can gain the essence of a particular place in Vrindavan, or of a particular personality, through the pranam mantra associated with that place or person.

In Vraja-bhakti-vilasa, by Srila Narayana Bhatta Goswami, in Chapter 10, there is the pranama mantra for Chira ghat.

“O Gopi-vallabha, O Chira ghat, please accept…

Indradyumna Swami took the Parikrama group to the forest of Kamyavan, where, he explained, the original deity of Vrinda-devi actually resides. He reminded the group that the great, great grandson of Lord Krishna, Vajranabha, established a number of Deities for the first time around Sri Vrindavan Dhama, because the devotees were so much missing the personal presence of Lord Krishna.

Along with other Deities, Vajranabha installed a Deity of Vrinda-devi, because she is so important in the lives of Vaisnavas, as the devotees had previously heard during their visit to Vrinda Kunda. Many thousands of years later, Indradyumna Swami said…

Bada Haridas spoke to the assembled Parikrama group at Vrinda Kunda. He expressed, in the beginning of his lecture, his wish that the devotees gathered there could gain a deeper appreciation of their collective good fortune.

In fact, he cited Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur saying:

“Real spiritual emotion begins with gratitude.”

He went on to say that “if we can somehow be deeply appreciative or realize our good fortune to have the chance that we have to be here in Vrindavan, then that is the beginning of our spiritual growth.” He mentioned that speaking on the exalted Vrinda-devi is beyond our…

Indradyumna Swami brought the Kartik Parikrama devotees to Akrura Ghata on the first day of Kartik. He began by welcoming the devotees to the 2019 Parikrama by emphasizing the five activities in Krishna consciousness which are particularly potent in developing our Krishna consciousness: 1). Chanting Hare Krishna, 2). Hearing from the Srimad Bhagavatam, 3). Worshiping the Deity of the Lord, 4). Associating with Devotees, and 5). Living in or visiting a holy place like Mathura, Vrindavan, or Mayapur.

He went on to cite that the Hari Bhakti Vilasa states:

One who says to Krishna with feeling from his heart, ‘I…

Indradyumna Swami took the Kartik Parikrama group to the forest of Biharvan, which he described means “the forest of transcendental enjoyment.” He went on to mention that this forest is a favorite place for Sri Sri Radha and Krishna to have their nikunja pastimes, which take place in cottages made of bower houses.

These nikunja pastimes are in fact even more confidential than the rasa-lila pastimes. Even the elderly sakhis of Srimati Radharani do not have access to these pastimes; rather, only the small manjaris who are 3–4 years old are allowed to help in those pastimes. …
