Programming languages come and go (no pun intended). Although Java is two decades old now, I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. Especially with the introduction of Java 8. Having said that, I do agree that more modern languages eat some of Java’s market share. In my opinion, Java cannot keep up with newer languages and their features since it tries to be backwards compatible with older versions (and for some this is a good thing).

Interesting post. I’m not very familiar with Go. Would be interesting to see a comparison between the two languages.
