I hit 1K followers yo!
At the cost of seeming childish(which I actually am) yippiekiyayyy I hit 1K followers.

Back in December 2016 when I actually started taking this blogging thing serious, I never thought I would stick with it this long. But as I kept writing I realized people actually read my stuff. And some even leave nice comments. How cool is that!
Back then getting even 10 views with 2 reads(which are from my friends) was a big achievement. Hey, 10 people viewed my story didn’t they!
At first a lot of people asked me “Why are you doing this?” or “Are you getting paid?” They didn’t see any reason why I was putting all this effort into writing something so personal that so many would never even see.
But screw it! I started blogging for me. To test my writing skills, to see where I stand. To explore various other forms of writing. And now I can proudly say that I can write various genres other than Short Stories(which I think is my strong area) I now can write poems with ease (although I sometimes struggle with Haikus)
Through this medium I had the good fortune to read and learn so many beautiful pieces, from so many great writers and poets and so many of them I look up to. I so look forward for those writers recommending my work.
It’s not about money, it’s not about “wasted effort”. It’s about learning, it’s about exploring, and it’s about so many new beginnings, so many firsts — my first haiku, my first ever poem, my first ever blog post about mental health.
This has been amazing 8 months here and I look forward to continue writing as long as Medium allows me to write here.

Thanks for all those who follow me. And to the bots who follow me I wish I could type T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U in binary but I can’t. You won’t read it anyway, so I’ll just leave it at that.
To others who do follow me and read my stuff, thanks! You know me better than most of the people in my life.
