In fact, some words and expressions we often use can have a greater impact than we imagined on our mental state. 1. „ But… ”

Who would have thought that this three-letter word could have so many consequences? Usually „ but ” is used to rule out a possibility. „ I would go to the gym, BUT I’m very tired. I would save money, but I want that bag ”. When we use this conjunction, we do nothing but limit ourselves to one of the expressed desires.

„ But ” forces us to see everything in black and white. Of course you can go to the gym even if you feel tired. You can also save money even if you want that bag. Psychotherapist Kristina Virro, quoted by Popsugar.com, recommends replacing the word „ but ” with „ and ”. In this way you expand your possibilities and do not drastically exclude the variants you have at your disposal.
