I propose an amendment to the United States Constitution with the following words:

The Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces shall be the Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps elected by the Marines themselves alone, they who will be first on the front lines of any wars. The Commandant will report directly to the People of the United States and be accountable to them and them alone. The President of the United States will be responsible to the People for providing the logistical support necessary to effect the will of the People as contained in the People’s ongoing directives to its Commander in Chief.

No armed offensive actions will be taken by the Commander in Chief against any other persons or countries without the advance affirmative approval of 75% + 1 of the eligible voters.
