In San Francisco where I live now, New-York, Los Angeles, or Paris, I can’t count the number of founders contacting me on social media for a quick chat or to grab a coffee, and often asking: “I’ve got a great idea and team, how do I find fundings for the first miles?”.

In Direct-to-consumer business models, especially for fashion and beauty, it seems difficult to find investors before achieving the first milestones, let’s say the first Million in revenues. And I can’t blame Business angels to focus on where they are excellent at in the Silicon Valley, B2B, Saas and AI. A few VC friends mentioned to me that in the past anything that was linked to impact women’s life was called the “Girly Deals”. We are lucky enough, times are changing…

WE BELIEVE SELF-ESTEEM IS A HUMAN NEED, WE ALL CRAVE FOR RELATIONSHIPS, FILLING LIFE WITH MORE MEANING.

What do you stand for? I personally believe in giving self-confidence to people, helping them to connect with others. Helping people to express themselves and to show up in the world through fashion (clothes, shoes, accessories), beauty and self-care. It’s truly a meaningful mission.

Global personal luxury goods market is expected to grow by 6–8 percent to $ 290 billion end 2018 (Bain), and global cosmetics products market to reach $ 805 billion by 2023 (Reuters).

It’s not only a huge market, but fills life with more meaning. We are addressing needs that make us human beings. Feeling connected to who we are, standing up for who we really are. Happy to communicate with others. Being inspired and inspiring others. Sharing moments, the ultimate luxury experience.

Everything is about self-confidence and finding our place in the world.

I’m lucky enough to have met great talent in San Francisco coming from all over the world. We believe we’re stronger with a diversity of profiles and different backgrounds. Inclusivity powers innovation and creativity.

We believe in a more holistic approach to Beauty, rooted into our values, behaviors and preferences, leveraging data for ever more personalized products and services.

We also believe in sustainable, conscious Fashion, aware of the social and environmental impacts.

We leverage AI and Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, Computer Vision, Body Motion, Facial Recognition, and Blockchain for personalization, 1–1 engagement at scale, and real time experience.

After 3 years in the Silicon Valley as a Business Angel, Advisor for startups and VCs and Board Member, I have seen the impact of my guidance and also of being involved on some day-to-day operations. I’m still humble, learning every day, but measure with companies exits, metrics and feedback from entrepreneurs what I have helped them to accomplish. There is a period in life where impact matters more than anything else.

I want to contribute to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem here in the Silicon Valley, and I’m so happy to see that nearly 70 per cent of them are female founders and minority founders in the fashion and beauty verticals. Retail has been underestimated here.

It’s obviously different from an incubator (with mentor office space and coaching, and a short period of time) or VC, where founders receive some degree of support of course.

We are company builders and provide tailored services.

We invest in companies from San Francisco to Los Angeles, because we are convinced California is the best place for entrepreneurs in this period: growing fast thanks to creative and tech talent and great investors, but with ideas and founders coming from all over the world, thinking global from the beginning!

We have the power to revolutionize markets, to challenge the status-quo.

Startups that grow within the Studio gain enough traction to raise their series A.

We believe in long term relationships and trust for success stories between founders and funders. We are side-by-side with entrepreneurs.

We’ll add a venture arm to our operations to make larger venture investing part of our business and be able to follow up and continue to support our startups in the long haul.
