With obesity as America’s number one health problem, it’s not surprising to see people obsessing with losing weight. In fact, the weight-loss industry is growing big thanks to the increasing desire of everyone to look slimmer and fit into the society’s definition of “healthy”. Eating excessive sugary foodstuff will not just hinder your goal to achieve your ideal body weight but is also detrimental to your health. According to the American Heart Association, people who consume added sugar more than the recommended amount (150 calories for women, 100 calories for men) are at risk of developing heart diseases.

If you find it hard to ditch sugar completely, at least use a suitable sugar substitute. You can buy coconut sugar or other healthy options. They contain more or less similar amount of calories with refined sugars, but when it comes to how its sugar content affect your body, organic and unrefined sugar is better due to its numerous health benefits.
