Ari partners with Africa Blockchain University to promote NFT education, extending Celo’s mission of creating prosperity for all to art creators across the continent
Ari (www.ariswap.net) is proud to announce a new partnership with Africa Blockchain University (ABU), serving as the exclusive center of learning for bringing thousands of artists across Africa to Web3.
Since October of last year, ABU has held a variety of NFT training of trainers (ToT) workshops for African artists. So far, ABU has trained artists in Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Sierra Leone, fostering the intersection of art and enhancing their knowledge of blockchain technology to develop an understanding of how it can be utilized to preserve African culture and heritage.
A financial spring
Africa is witnessing an economic renaissance through mobile financial innovations and blockchain technologies. The traditional financial infrastructure has failed Africa miserably.
Around 95 million people do not have traditional bank accounts. However, 60% of the world’s mobile money flows through the continent, and Africans exchanged $490 billion using mobile money providers alone. Nigeria is the world’s second-largest bitcoin market after the USA.

The first step to a brighter future
Ari will be teaching workshops about Web3 and NFT to thousands of artists through the ABU platform. These workshops will expand on introduction to Web3, how to create an online collection, how to mint an NFT, create a story through art, and much more.
The works of the artists who attend the NFT workshops will then be minted and displayed on the Ari NFT Marketplace, generating proceeds and income for each participating artist. In addition, 5% of all sales on the Ari NFT Marketplace will be donated to support Unconditional Basic Income programs in vulnerable communities worldwide through impactMarket.
