In our company, we always want to provide best sailing experience that nautical enthusiast can get. As experienced sailors, we are focused on one very important part of sailing — mooring.

Boatasy GHook

Mooring with lazy lines is most common type of berthing in Mediterranean. This type of berthing requires a lot of skills, especially in windy conditions, when we must bring and tension them up as soon as possible in order to avoid eventual drifting and collision.

Lazy lines normally, but not always, come in pairs and when not in use they are attached to the quay at one end and sinkers at the other. The procedure is similar as for traditional Med mooring except, in this type, you don’t drop your anchor. When we finally come to pier, we have to deal with mooring, which must usually be brought to the bow cleat, where we have to fix it with a cleat hitch.

We all know that this sounds more easier, than really is!

In reality, mooring lies too deep on seafloor, to be able to pick it up from the bow where we need it. That’s why we need to grab it with the hook and transfer it with our hands from the stern to the bow.

Transfer is one of the most dirty and heavy things to do on the boat!

Lazy line is covered with mud, seashells and algae, which can make transferring of mooring even more complicated. The deck is often dirty and it could be dangerous for hand injuries, scratches, etc.

Do you imagine indirect, clean and fast transfer of mooring line? It is possible, with innovative equipment called Boatasy GHOOK.

The Boatasy GHOOK consists of an ergonomic handle capable to use it with only one hand. With an inserted 7 cm wide rolling wheel for fast usage. Opening for optional rope extension, where you could additionally connect the extension, is particularly important, when used on bigger boats than 12 meters.

This is why holding the Boatasy GHOOK instead of the rope, protects the crew’s hands from injuries and guarantees clean deck and hands. Our special attention went into minimizing the friction caused by overgrown ropes, which accelerates the mooring process by up to 3 times.

You’re wondering how it’s used?

Simple as that:

Open the Boatasy GHOOK’s safety latch and place the mooring line on the GHOOK’s rotating wheel.
The GHOOK’s safety latch will close automatically when released.
Pull the GHOOK while holding the ergonomic handle or rope extension.

And just like that, you’re ready for you sea adventure!
