In the modern world, we the consumers are literally at the mercy of big corporations. They decide which trend will be for this season, when to launch a new product and at what price.

Being based in China for the past 10 years, I have witnessed how the factories are squeezed to offer the same price as previous years… According to some experts, the price of some items didn’t increase for the past 30 years, while the price of raw materials has on average tripped during the last decade, also the inflation and labor cost kept increasing year after year!

So, how can factories survive and keep the same production price over the years?

In the early years, factories have repetitively reduced their margin to keep orders following to their factories, then automation and increasing workers productivity (make them work as a robot) helped to keep factories a life.

Now, what everyone sees on a daily basis is a major downgrade of material’s quality and taking shortcuts in production steps.

There is only one loser in this business model is the final customer who is pushed the to pay the premium price for a much lower quality. This trend will clearly worsen with time.

A new startup from Morocco named Groupi Maroc is trying to take out all agents in the supply chain to bring the products to the final consumers direct from the factories.

This innovative business model named (Achats groupés au Maroc) where a group of people consolidate their orders and purchase directly from the factory, benefiting from a good price and excellent quality.

Groupi Maroc is considered now the leading e-commerce website in Morocco (achat en ligne au Maroc).
