“Disagree. Not true.”
Truth isn’t a product of whether you agree or not.
“Your logic is flawed.”
Show it, don’t tell it.
“But then I wouldn’t expect a man in this culture to agree that women deserve the same dignity and respect as men. Men are too invested in their privilege.”
Are you assuming my gender? My culture? You also have no grounds for assuming my opinion on gender equality.
“When you can show me that men aren’t addicted to violent degrading porn, or that men don’t make up 99% of pedophiles, or that the military isn’t a bunch of murderous psychopaths hell bent on pushing the nuclear button, or that Donald Trump is the exception rather than the rule in politics, then maybe we can talk.”
I don’t need to show you anything, much less to prove a negative. Why should I even accept the relevance of any of these subjects to my criticism of your argument?
“As a woman who’s been incested, raped, assaulted, betrayed, abandoned and who regularly fends off rude men in public places, along with most women I know, then maybe you’ll have credibility.”
Are you assuming I’m a woman now, or did this sentence just run away from you?
“So, you can twist my arguments into whatever myths you choose to believe about women.”
I gave no indication of what I might believe about women. What I believe isn’t relevant to my comment.
“I ain’t buying it.”
Neither would I expect you to. What you believe isn’t relevant to my comment either and, frankly doesn’t concern me.
