Recently we were alerted to the fact that Ethershift inadvertently accepted a transfer of over 60,000 stolen POLL tokens, which were then sold (dumped) on Kucoin exchange.
This hurt us. It halved the price of POLL, between launch and today and triggered a selloff from other holders, under the assumption that there was something wrong with POLL, which of course is not the case.
Ethershift have come forward and offered to reimburse those tokens to us, which of course they were not obligated to do, as the tokens were not ours and not stolen from us. We got in touch with the rightful owner, which was in fact Team McAfee. They, also understanding the damage that this had caused us, have agreed to not accept the tokens returned to them, and allow us to add them all to the ClearPoll User Rewards pool.
As a result, Ethershift have agreed to return over 60,000 POLL to us, over an 8 week period. We will then add them to the User Rewards pool. Ethershift have already returned almost 8,000 POLL and have agreed to continue that weekly until all are returned.
So what does it mean for you, the ClearPoll user or token holder?
The first rewards period ends November 30. There are now over 17,000 POLL in the rewards pool, and there will be over 70,000 by the time the current rewards period ends. As a ClearPoll user, you will be sharing that entire pool with other users who have signed up for rewards. All you need to do, is add your address into ClearPoll Desktop, and create some polls. As a token holder, if you’ve been looking at the chart and wondering what is going on, we hope you understand that “dumping” 60,000 POLL makes a huge impact. POLL only has a total circulation of less than 7M and a low trading volume right now, because many are holding, to claim their reward multipliers. There is nothing wrong with POLL or ClearPoll, our launch went successfully and we are gaining users, as intended. Now, with at least 70,000 POLL in the rewards pool by Nov 30, it’s as though our revenue services have already started (they actually commence in October).

We would also like to thank Team McAfee for refusing to accept the tokens and allow us to send them to our rewards pool instead, because they understand how this ordeal hurt us and our token holders.
It is unfortunate that these situations can occur in crypto, but they do happen, and we are grateful it was handled appropriately.
