The freelance economy is on the rise. The younger you are, the more likely you want work freedom as an individual. Businesses are in fact saving on taxes in need of goal-oriented tasks that doesn’t require a yearly full-time position. As these trends increase we always need to be wary of what skills and jobs that are sought after in the market. So what jobs are businesses hiring these days?

Without further ado, let’s dive into the top 10 jobs of 2019:

10) Teachers — $15 an hour (global average)

If your not the type to be employed by a school to lecture and teach our youth and adults for the betterment of society, you can do it freelancing instead. If you’re one of those with English proficiency (native or C2 level) why not teach? Non-native English countries around the world have a population of eager citizens to learn. English is the language of commerce, which you can thank globalization for that.

9) Recruiter — $20 an hour (global average)

Some jobs require specific talents, but it can be difficult to track these people down. That’s where a recruiter can come into play. The global recruitment market is valued at $215.68 billion (2017) and is expected to grow to 334.28 billion by 2025. Guess they will need to recruit more recruiters!

8) Translators — $22 an hour (global average)

The global market needs to interact with each other. And the need for translators has always been with us. Before AI takes over with translating (if and when) the need for translators has been consistent. But a quick hint, Manderian makes up 1.3 billion speakers. English and Mandarin speakers anyone?

7) Game Developer — $31 an hour (global average)

Our love of video games is always looking for talent. Whether you’re a developer or a business entrepreneur the invention of new games almost seems daily. It starts with an idea of game logic that is not only fun, but you make what you want to play! But this can’t be built without developers in the space. This job requires special experience and for those with this skill, you can earn good money. Time to drop the writing and play some old school Doom!

6) Copy Writers — $35 an hour (global average)

Being a copywriter is lucrative, but this also requires skill and experience. The ability to write quality text of advertisements or publicity material is sought by many businesses. So if you have this ability to write eye catching content for websites, emails, brochures, catalogs and more. Apply and write fruitfully.

5) Voice acting — $48 an hour (global average)

Are you one of those people where friends and family say you sound like a news anchor? Maybe give voice acting a try. There are numerous opportunities for people needing excellent speakers.
