There are many kinds of lights in our daily life, and each kind of light has its unique meaning. The UV light in hospital room should be seen by everyone in the hospital, so the role of theUV light for hospitals should not be underestimated.

The appearance of the UV sterilizing lamp is not much different from that of an ordinary lamp. Many people still don’t know enough about the UV sterilizing lamp, and there is no obvious mark on many products. Its main function is to sterilize and disinfect. UV light for hospital room disinfection is often used if the light and ventilation are not good, which can kill mites and many germs and effectively create a healthy living environment.

UV Light For Hospital Room Disinfection with UVC Lamps

The hospital cleaning robot normally uses ultraviolet rays to kill bacteria, spores, mycobacteria, coronaviruses, fungi, rickettsiae, and chlamydia. The surface of objects, water and air contaminated by the virus can be effectively sterilized by ultraviolet light. UVC radiation emitted by UV light for hospital disinfection penetrates the cells of microorganisms making them non-viable and unable to reproduce or infect patients. UVC germicidal lamps are increasing in use especially in healthcare settings and hospitals, providing additional protection against infection and transmission of superbugs. UV sterilizing lamps of UV light for hospital room disinfection are mainly divided into high pressure, medium pressure and low-pressure types. For disinfection applications, the low-pressure UV light for hospitals is most used.

UV light in Hospital Room Uses

UV light for hospital disinfection was shown to be effective in reducing the spread of the disease in hospitals. UV ray is available to disinfect some places in which difficult to reach and help hospitals around the world fight the spread of harmful super-bacteria.

Generally speaking, the UV light in hospital room is mainly used for disinfection and sterilization. When used in the hospital, it can control and prevent the spread and transmission of respiratory infections to a large extent, and plays a role in air disinfection. The UV light in hospital room must be used reasonably and appropriately. If used unreasonably, it is likely to cause some damage to the eyes or skin. Therefore, when using the UV light in hospital room, it must be done in an unoccupied room. People should not stay under the UV light in hospital room as much as possible.

According to a study in the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC), the microbial burden on objects inside and outside the operating room was measured before and after chemical disinfection, and UV light reduced the active microbial burden by 92% to 97.7% before and between disinfection cases.

UV light for hospital disinfection has supported hospitals around the world to prevent the spread of harmful microorganisms, including superbacteria, viruses, bacteria, mold, and even volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

UV Light In Hospital Room Distinfection Under COVID-19

It was found that the efficacy of UV-C as a fungicide could be used as an auxiliary device for manual cleaning of the terminal. During the COVID-19 virus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, direct evidence is needed to enable the targeted implementation of UV light in hospital room distinfection under covid-19.

Nowadays, UV radiation has been proved to disrupt the exoprotein coating of the sars-coronavirus, a virus that is different from the current SARS-CoV-2 viruses. This disruption ultimately leads to viral inactivation. UV radiation may also effectively inactivate the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-2019 disease (COVID-19).
