Asystasia gangetica a hedge plant, throughout the year flowering. Hovering of few butterfly noticed frequently. Bush hopper, Blue tiger, Common Mormon and Blue mormon.
Commonly occur species in Swamp and wetland edges, stream banks and other moist areas. Grown as ornamental plant in gardens naturally occur in disturbed sites and waste areas. Some time the waste water can be treated through this root system.

One of legendary sacred tree of India. Native to India, Burma and Malaya. Mainly planted as ornamental as well for its medicinal value.
Lunar Moth or Moon moth
Moths always mimics the surroundings for example like green leaf, dry leaf, bark of a tree. Moths wing patterns are peculiar some will have eye pattern, few loooks like banded pattern. The relationship with surrounding flora is a most important features in moths. Arjuna tree, Jamun tree and Wild lime are frequently attracted by butterflies during day time and moths during night time. Moths also play a vital role in pollination. Moth study is not well established since due to Nocturnal habitat.
Phototaxis
Phototaxis is an organism’s automatic movement toward or away from light. Cockroaches are an example of a negatively phototactic organism.Some time moths are attarcted towards light. Another reason is moth night travel creatures eventually respond to light.This indirectly help predators to have a feast when insects get attracted towards light.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is used as a perennial evergreen herb native to the Mediterranean region. and has got culinary and medical uses. Rosemary is commonly consumed as a spice and flavoring in foods. Dried leaves are used to flavor various foods (tea, meat, sometime as mouth freshener).
Once very common plant along the river banks, presently restricted due to anthropogenic pressure. Tamil Nadu is home to a number of rattan species of which Calamus rotang is found in all districts of the state. Riparian means the vehetation found along the bank of river, lake, pond and streams. Riparian zone is described as the area between land and water. These vegetations are highly threatened due to encroachment, soild waste dumping, urbanization and so on.
The general structure of riparian vegetation consists of three layered structure such as canopy trees, middle stratum of shrubs and woody climbers and herbaceous ground flora. Some of the species are Calamus rotang,Abutilon crispum, Achyranthes aspera,Aerva lanata,Alternanthera sessilis,Canna indica,Cassia alata,Croton bonplandianus,Ficus hispida,Heliotropium indicum,Solanum trilobatum,Tephrosia purpurea,Terminalia arjuna.
