Each Bill a Ledger
The more you give, the more you owe
Of the vectors all around you
Nothing moves as hard
As a greenback earned or rescued
From a littered yard
Of all sordid paper ledgers
None records as much
As the alms of cash by pledgers
To causes and such
Of the couriers that never sleep
None travels as far
As change and occasional tips
From restaurants and bars
Of all fleeting lovers you've kissed
There's no filthier tongue
Than Benjamin's dusty nose fixed
To a stripper's thong
For the gears that drive pandemics
Far few lubes are best
Like the aim to steer politics
As the foremost quest
Of the seeds to plant in earnest
For a pandemic
None piques my sincerest interest
Like cash from the sick
For the most powerful country
There's no greater shame
Than to let her citizenry
Burn in foreseen flames
Meanwhile evasive Nigeria
Stuck to denial
Went from "nothing in this area"
Straight to mass burials
For the dead who did their utmost
To protect us, all
Should be thankful first and foremost
And then be appalled
