I have the same intel 7260AC network card in my Toshiba laptop, the problem is the drivers, the version 16.1.5.2 has been the stable driver with good 5.2Ghz back in August 2013 but the newer drivers after 16.6.0.8 has been mixed results and newer 16.10..5 has made 5G band very bad indicating around -82dBm signal strength.
